Wow, can you believe it? Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching! With just about a week left until the 14th, last minute gift shopping can be extremely stressful. Every Valentine’s Day, I struggle to find the perfect gift for my boyfriend. Anyone who said that guys are easy to shop for lied!
After years of shopping for my boyfriend, I think I finally cracked the “picky guy” code. Often times, I find that gift idea boards don’t cater to people who are on a budget or may be shopping last minute. These simple gift ideas will definitely make him smile. Better yet, they’re all under $35!
Sweet Steals (All Gift Ideas Under $35!)
A Mystery Box of His Favorite Show! (On Sale, $23.92)
I’ll admit, this one’s a riskier gift, simply because most stores won’t reveal what’s inside the mystery box. If you’re looking for more of an “experience” gift though, this is perfect for you! I actually bought Hot Topic’s Rick And Morty Mystery Box as a part of Alejandro’s Christmas gift, but I think it’ll work as a Valentine’s Day gift as well. If your boyfriend watches Rick And Morty as much as Alejandro does, he’ll enjoy this gift! Alejandro couldn’t help but chuckle as he opened the mystery box and still keeps the Young Rick Pop! Vinyl Figure on his desk at work 🙂
Personalized Build-A-Bear Plush! ($32.50)
This one makes my heart melt, personally. Although it’s a cheesier gift, he’ll like that it’s personalized. You can even dress the plush in his favorite sports team’s uniform! I chose the Happy Hugs Teddy and dressed him in a Chicago Cubs uniform (it comes with a jersey, pants and hat). This gift can be pricey depending on how many accessories you decide on, but in total, my plush ended up being $32.50.
All the Graphic-Tees. ($20.50 – $22.50)
Another Hot Topic pick. If there’s anything that I’ve learned from Alejandro so far, it’s that you can’t go wrong with a good graphic-tee. This Metallica tee only costs about $20.50 and is designed beautifully.
Sweater or a Flannel! (On Sale, $9)
Maybe you’re tired of seeing your guy in another t-shirt? Trust me, I relate to this on a spiritual level! Alejandro has SO many t-shirts in his closet and often times, is low on sweaters or dress shirts. Why not buy your boyfriend a sweater or a dressy flannel? He’ll thank you once it’s time for the holidays! I recommend this St John’s Bay sweater from JCPenney, which is now on sale for $9. The material is soft and comfy, which is a must for Alejandro. Your boyfriend will look effortlessly stylish!
His Favorite Chocolate/Candy (On Sale, $7.99)
It doesn’t get much simpler or sweeter than this! The Milk Chocolate Lindor Heart (13-pc) sells for $7.99. you can also buy him a bunch of his favorite candies or chocolates (whether that’s Reese’s, Snickers, Hershey’s, etc.) A classic gift!
Shaving Set ($14.99)
Now here’s a gift for the “practical” guy. I’ve seen a lot of shaving kits/products on Macy’s website but thought they were way too expensive. I found Harry’s Grooming Gift Set on Target’s website and am excited about the great reviews! If you’re really struggling to find your boyfriend a gift this year, I recommend something like this. The set comes with 1 Blade Cartridge, 1 Rubberized Grip Handle, 1 Shave Gel (4oz), 1 Post Shave Balm (1.7oz), and 1 Travel Blade Cover. He’ll love its usability!
Sports Merch (about $9.76)
If your guy is sporty, consider buying him a shirt, cap, or sweater so he can represent his favorite team! Merch can be on the expensive side but I found an MLB Chicago Cubs hat on Walmart’s website that is only $9.76. Generally caps like this are about $9-10 on the site and shirts are about $15+.
Boxers/Briefs Set (about $26)
Now, I know that underwear as gifts can be seen as boring. But, he’ll definitely appreciate you for this simple gift! If you want to dress it up a bit, Target offers some fun, silly Valentine’s Day designs (just under $9)! You can also keep it simple with a Croft & Barrow 2-pack Solid & Patterned Microfiber, which Kohl’s sells on their website for $26.
Novelty Shot Glasses! ($4.09)
I adore this one! FYE has a great selection of individual shot glasses or sets on their website. Alejandro’s personal favorite is this Batman shot glass! ($4.09)
Thoughtful Homemade Gifts That Show You Care!

Valentine’s Day Goodie Bag!
One of my personal favorites! I actually gave this to Alejandro last Valentine’s Day and he loved it! Take a trip to your local Walmart or Dollar Store and fill up a cute bag with your boyfriend’s favorite goodies. I stuffed Alejandro’s bag with chocolates, candies, a tiny stuffed animal, and a card. Wrap the gifts in fine paper and tie the bag with a ribbon (maybe his favorite color!) It’ll look so cute and sweet. <3
