Hi, lovelies! 💛 I haven’t done an update post in so long! In fact, I wrote my last favorites post back in July! This month has been really eventful, and I wanted to share some awesome April favorites and memories with y’all! Let’s get to it! ☀️
April Favorites and Memories
Road Trip
Alejandro and I got a chance to visit Texas this month! We’ve been wanting to go on a road trip for a while and it was so much fun. At first, I was worried that the 14 hour trip (plus stops) would be exhausting, but it absolutely flew by. We went on the trip with Alejandro’s brother and visited family!
My favorite part of the road trip was looking out at the scenery and listening to music. I made a playlist with some of our favorite songs, so the ride was very peaceful.
I remember stopping in Oklahoma and a Norah Jones song was playing in the background. That moment was so relaxing. It was about 6 or 7 in the evening and we all marveled at the sunset.
Fort Worth Botanic Garden
Once we got to Texas, we unpacked and chilled for the rest of the evening. I believe we checked in at about 12am. The next morning, we visited the Botanic Garden in Fort Worth. And wow…the garden was just gorgeous! We took so many photos that day.
Coffee Shops & Food
The next day, Alejandro and I went to downtown Dallas. We visited the Sixth Floor Museum and spent most of the afternoon walking around the city.
Afterwards, we ate at Ellen’s. It was so delicious that I forgot to snap a photo! Alejandro ordered mac & cheese and I got country fried steak.
Throughout the trip, we visited a couple of coffee shops, including I Love U A-Latte. The atmosphere was adorable! I also introduced Alejandro to In-n-Out that day!
Sitcom Shenanigans
A sitcom moment happened in the middle of the week. We were all hanging out at the hotel and Alejandro’s brother saw a huge bug in our room. All I remember is everyone freaking out and Alejandro grabbing his sandal. 😂
Later that night, it started raining heavily and the power went out. We joked around that La Llorona was going to get us! 😂 Alejandro and his brother started making crying noises and calling themselves Los Llorones LOL!! We didn’t get the power back until maybe 4am!
Touristy Spots
On Saturday, we went to the Perot Museum of Nature and Science (Alejandro’s favorite part!) I absolutely loved seeing the space and dinosaur exhibits. After our visit, I made sure to buy these cute space themed earrings.
That evening, we visited the Reunion Tower and the got the perfect view of Dallas! We were so high up–it was gorgeous! Finally, we spent the rest of the night playing Uno and sipping on milkshakes at Braum’s.
Moving & Home Decor
We also finally settled into our apartment in April! We’re in the same apartment complex, but moved into a one bedroom on another floor. It’s nice that we didn’t have to completely change our location.
Alejandro and I love the town we live in and it’s so close to Chicago, which is amazing. I grew up in Chicago, and I feel at home being so close to my city.
I’ve been working on making our place look like a home. Alejandro and I saved up for a dresser and new bed. My mom also bought us a new kitchen table. I LOVE the new pieces!
In the summer, I really want to get a peach or blush comforter similar to this one. I think that’d be so cute!
Dream Board
In the beginning of April, I wrote a “how to make a dream board” tutorial post. This was probably my favorite post out of the month that I’ve written, and I love how my dream board came out. If you’re interested in making a dream board, you can check out the post here!
New Music Favorites in April
Can’t forget about my music faves! I made a playlist for our road trip featuring a bunch of new artists. I’m obsessed with Billie Eilish’s new album, When We all Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?
I also found out that her brother Finneas O’Connell cowrites her music and his songs are great too! I’m loving “Let’s Fall in Love for the Night” and listen to the song often.
Recently, I stumbled upon The Academic and Lennon Stella on Spotify. The Academic reminds me so much of Augustana, which is one of my favorite bands. I recommend their song, “Girlfriends!”
My fave artist this month is Khalid. His music is absolutely gorgeous and he just came out with a new album called Free Spirit! I also replayed “Better” and “Saturday Nights” a little too much during our 14 hour road trip lol!
The Jonas Brothers also came out with new music and I’m digging their new song, “Cool.”
Finally, I wanted to update y’all about Pinterest. I’ve been working really hard on my profile and am excited to share that my 30 Days of Self Care Challenge pin got over 35k views!
I tend to feel awkward about sharing stats on my blog, but I always find it so interesting and helpful when other bloggers analyze their stats.
Over the past few months, I’ve been trying really hard to learn more about graphic design, marketing, and the platform in general. It’s really encouraging to see these numbers and I feel so happy!
I just want to thank anyone who takes time out of their day to check out my posts. It truly means a lot to me and I’m so grateful for your support! Blogging is a huge passion of mine and I feel so motivated to continue pursuing my dreams. ☁️
I hope you enjoyed this update post, lovelies! Have a wonderful rest of your day! x

Beautiful pictures! I love the ones of the new furniture in your bedroom 😀 those burgers from In-N-Out look so stuffed full of ingredients! My favourite part of April was having time off from work in all honesty, I’m a little sad to have to go back on Monday x
Thank you, Chanelle!! 💛And omg, they were really big burgers lol! I couldn’t finish my burger, but it was delicious! 😂Ohhh nooo, I hope you enjoyed your weekend and have a good first day back at work!! I know how that goes — I did NOT want to go back to work after our trip!!
Did you get to take your burger away with you? I had such a nice time off, 10 days in total 🙂
No, we didn’t end up taking it but Alejandro took a few bites of my burger before we left lol 😂Wow, 10 days, that’s awesome!! 😊Longer vacations or time off like that are the best (and much needed sometimes)! I felt so refreshed after my trip! x
aww how sweet! around this time last year my mans and i had a roadtrip. I love those kid of memories.
OMG if that was the japanese garden in fort worth then that is amazing because I went once back when I visited my dad in Texas. So amazing and peaceful <3
Thanks for sharing! Good luck on reaching more blog milestones too 🙂
It seems to be road trip season this time of year lol! 😊Yes!! The Japanese Garden is one of the gardens in Fort Worth’s Botanic Garden!! They had so many little sections to the garden and it was really lovely! The flowers were beautiful, and it ended up being such a peaceful walk. So cool that you visited there too, Kiki!! I think there’s a botanic garden near Chicago too, so I def want to check that out! x
Hi I like the blog post. Dallas seemed fun and the coffee shops seem cute.
Ma
