Alejandro and I went on a date night Wednesday night! It was so much fun, and we got to enjoy a laid-back evening together at the Rosemont Plaza. We walked along the plaza for a while and talked about the day. Afterwards, we went out for dinner at Kings Dining and Entertainment. I wanted to share my date night outfit of the day with y’all!
We’ve been trying to go on weekly date nights lately, and it’s been a great way for us to nurture the relationship. I always look forward to getting off my shift at work and eating at a nice restaurant or catching a movie with him. 💗
Usually, this outfit would be completely out of my comfort zone, but I’m kind of obsessed with my new adorable little two piece set!
Date Night Outfit of the Day
Plaid Two Piece Set
When I first spotted this plaid two piece set at Target, I immediately wanted to try it on! I haven’t worn a two piece in a few years, but the cute checkered pattern really caught my eye. I’m super into plaid and flannels in general, and this set also felt very 90’s. The outfit stood out in comparison to the other skirts and dresses at the store because of its bold colors.
When I tried on the set, it fit like a glove and was super comfy! Best of all, the skirt is actually a skort!
Fun Fact: Alejandro and I work different shifts, so I decided to lug my tripod outside and take my own OOTD photos! I may have gotten a few stares here and there in the process. Yay for awkwardness!

Everyday Glam Makeup
For my date night look, I also wanted to share my makeup picks! Since it was still a weeknight, I went for an everyday glam makeup look. I’ve always loved really soft looks with a pretty plum, red, or rose lipstick. My focus was definitely the eyes for this look, so I applied some shimmery eyeshadow, mascara, and winged eyeliner.
NYX has a lot of cute and affordable eyeshadow palettes. Out of all the palettes that I’ve tried so far, the Adorable palette has to be my favorite because of all the neutral shades! I also applied Revlon’s Colorstay Creme Eye Shadow in Honey and found that it added the perfect amount of glam to my everyday look!

On to our date! We walked around the Rosemont Plaza for a while, which was fun! A lot of people were hanging out, even though it was a Wednesday night. The Rosemont area is so gorgeous at night because of all of the glowing lights from busy shops and restaurants.
Alejandro took some photos of my OOTD along the way. When I looked back on the photos, I caught a few hilarious photo bombs here and there! People were waving, posing for the photo, or giving us a thumbs up! LOL!
Dinner at Kings Dining and Entertainment
Afterwards, we went out to eat at Kings Dining and Entertainment. Alejandro’s coworkers recommended this spot to us and we’ve already been there a couple of times. In April when I shared my Beauty and the Beast Modern Day Lookbook, we actually had dinner together at Kings for the date night portion.
The food at Kings is SO yummy. Alejandro ordered a burger, and I was craving their four cheese pasta dish! We wanted to eat outside since the weather was beautiful that night. Thankfully they had an outdoor patio!
This OOTD ended up being a great choice for a pretty chill night. I’m excited to wear my two piece set again before summer ends!

Omg, same here, I definitely get those weird stares (even if Alejandro’s the one taking my OOTD/fashion photos)! I live in an apartment complex so it always gets pretty awkward whenever people are coming in and out of the building lol!! 😂
