Hey, lovelies! 💕 Happy Thursday! This week is going by so fast! Today, I wanted to share a little snippet of my weekend with y’all. It was Easter and my grandma hosted our family get together at her house. I had fun hanging out with them and playing with my little brother, Jonathan. As I grow older, I’m appreciating spending time with loved ones a lot more. When you’re a child, it almost feels like life will always stay the same. Eventually you realize time goes by way too quickly. That’s when you start to cherish everyday moments of life, whether it’s watching tv with your family, sharing a meal with your significant other, or laughing with friends.
This weekend was a perfect snapshot of those wonderfully ordinary moments of life for me, personally.
Let’s start with Saturday. Alejandro and I left for my grandma’s at about 3-ish.
During our drive there, I couldn’t help but admire the scenery.
My grandma lives about an hour away from me in a much more rural town. Although I adore living near the city and can’t really imagine being anywhere else right now, the ride to her house is absolutely peaceful.
Sometimes I’ll just sit back, listen to a playlist, and look out the window. This trip, I played a lot of Jewel, The Cranberries, and Landon Pigg.
When we got to her house, Alejandro and I were greeted by my mom, grandma, and little brother, Jonathan.
Their smiling faces made me happy! Jonathan ran around inside the house with excitement. We hadn’t seen them in a couple of weeks so hugs were definitely in order 🙂
Within 5 minutes, Jonathan grabbed our hands and showed us his new toys.
We played with him for almost an hour. He’s a two year old, so his favorite activities include screaming, throwing all of his toys, and giggling at just about everything. I love hearing the sound of his laughter! Even when I’m anxious or upset, just being around him for a few minutes will immediately make me feel better. Later that evening, Alejandro, my mom and I went to a restaurant called Williamson’s.
While we were waiting to be seated, Alejandro decided to relax on this really fancy chair. Why does he look like a professor in this picture?
I ordered Chicken Vesuvio which came with potato wedges, mixed veggies, and rice. So yummy! If you’re in the Chicagoland area, I recommend this spot! Their food tasted delicious and the service was excellent!
The next day, we celebrated Easter!
My extended family came over and we chatted, hung out, and watched cartoons. Jonathan is obsessed with the ABC’s right now and will literally turn the tv off if we play a movie instead of his tunes. There’s a ton of nursery rhyme videos on YouTube that are educational for toddlers and babies, like the “Solar System Song” and “Shapes Song.” They’re super cute!
My grandma and mom prepped dinner in the kitchen together while Alejandro and I looked after Jonathan.
Nonna made stuffed shells, cheesy potatoes, ham, and green beans. For dessert, we ate jello, cookies, cupcakes, and ice cream cake.
Alejandro and Jonathan chased each other around the kitchen and their laughter filled me with joy.
They’re basically best buddies and Jonathan looks at Alejandro with so much love in his eyes. I’m very lucky to have both of these guys in my life!
Before I end today’s post, I thought I’d share an Easter OOTD!
Recently, I bought this floral top with bell-sleeves from Walmart! The pastel colors are perfect for a spring day. I paired the shirt with white jeans from Charlotte Russe, which I featured in my closet essentials post. They’re super comfortable and I was able to run around with Jonathan throughout the day.
I hope that you enjoyed this post. 💓
What are some everyday moments that bring a smile to your face?
Have a wonderful rest of your Thursday, loves! Talk to you soon! 🙂 💓
