Hi, lovelies! 💕 I hope you’re having a wonderful day! So, yesterday after work, Alejandro and I wanted to bask in the sunshine and explore our city! Since we live really close to Chicago, my mom recommended a spot called the Sugar Factory restaurant in Rosemont! How could we say no to sour candy and gummy bears?
Before hopping in the car and heading out, I needed to change first. What would be appropriate to wear for the weather, though? If you live in a place where it doesn’t feel like spring just yet, you most likely understand the struggle! After rummaging through my closet, I finally found an outfit to wear for the day! Here’s my “it’s not quite spring weather yet” springtime OOTD!
Going to the Sugar Factory Restaurant
Winter to Spring OOTD
For my transitional outfit, I decided to combine warmer fabric with spring themed colors and floral prints. One of my favorite pieces for spring is a peacoat. The right peacoat can withstand colder weather, and picking out a warm toned color (like brown, camel, or pink) serves as a perfect statement piece in April.
Two Christmases ago, my mom bought me this fitted peacoat and I wear it out on colder spring–or even warmer fall–days. Finding a jacket for transitional weather can feel awkward, but consider a peacoat or trench coat this spring!
Accessories
In terms of accessories, I chose a medium sized cream handbag from Van Heusen and brown ankle boots. During winter, my bag is always filled with random things like mittens, chapstick, a scarf, and more!
Trading in a bulkier bag for a lightweight one or spring cleaning your handbag can definitely help with setting the tone for the upcoming warmer weather. Ankle boots also work well for transitional weather since they’re close toed and versatile.
Floral Top & High Waisted Jeans
A floral top is such a wonderful springtime closet staple! If you find yourself having to wear an oversized coat or boots because it’s still chilly outside, try adding a floral print to your outfit! It’ll automatically feel more like spring!
After digging through my spring pieces, I chose an off-the-shoulder top by Poetry and paired it with high waisted jeans. A cute but casual look!

Having fun in the Sugar Factory 💛
On to the candy! If y’all are ever in the Chicagoland area, definitely check out the Sugar Factory! It’s such an adorable little shop/restaurant and will honestly make you feel like a kid again. They have a great variety of chocolates and candy, like giant gummy bears, malt balls, and birthday cake gumballs. Alejandro and I bought a take out container of watermelon sour candy and gummy bears.
We couldn’t wait to bring it home and snuck a few pieces before dinner. After munching on candy for a while, we dined in their American diner themed restaurant. For dinner, I ordered a classic burger and fries. It was delicious! Their menu is pretty big, so if you’re not into burgers, they offer pasta, seafood, and breakfast options!
I hope that y’all enjoyed this OOTD post. 💓 Have a great rest of your Wednesday, lovelies! 🙂
What are some of your favorite transitional winter to spring weather pieces? Also, have you ever been to the Sugar Factory?
Love the outfit! Florals always help us girls still battling the cold! I may have considered something roomy though, I LOVE some candy!!!
You’re so right, florals are definitely such a necessity! It’s been a long winter in Chicago, I’m ready to bring out a floral dress now!! Hopefully soon 🙂 <3 lol! Thanks so much for stopping by! :)
Very cute. And it sounds like I would need to bring a toothbrush to the Sugar Factory to clean my teeth of the taste after 😂
Thank you!! <3 :) I wish I brought a tooth brush now that you mention it 😂I had way too many gummy bears, enough to get a sugar high!!! hehe!!
