Hi, lovelies! 💛 I hope you’re having a fantastic afternoon! Y’ALL…I got a haircut! I’m pretty sure the stylist cut off about 5-6 inches. It was quite a big change since I’ve had the same hairstyle for a while! Funny enough, I always seem to cut my hair into a “bob” style or try something new during the fall season. Changing my hairstyle this week felt like a new start and a cool way to welcome November! 🍁
I think I feel the most “like myself” and confident with short hair for some reason. I’m not sure why. Whenever I walk, my hair kind of just bounces with me. Plus, it’s so much easier to style, especially since I have wavy/curly hair.
For today’s post, I thought it’d be fun to say “Hey, what’s up November” with a glittery autumn makeup look….featuring my new haircut, of course! 💓
“Golden Autumn Leaves” Makeup Look
First things first…a classic golden smokey eye! This has to be my fav makeup look to create because it’s just so glamorous and perfect for autumn/winter. For this particular look, I envision a beautiful day at the park. Autumn leaves paint every tree with stunning shades of gold, red, brown, and yellow. 🍂
Step #1: Eyes
Usually, I’ll apply eyeliner before anything else. This step can get pretty tricky, but I’ve found a routine that works best for me. L’Oreal Extra Intense Liquid Pencil Eyeliner is my go-to because it’s a crayon eyeliner. First, I start with my upper eyelid and draw the line thicker as I reach the outer corner of my lid. For this look, I created a more dramatic wing.
A trick I’ve learned throughout the years: Draw the wing diagonally (not too upwards) and add on the eyeliner slowly.
Afterwards, I added eyeshadow. I used various shades from Urban Decay’s Naked palette, which I picked up for the first time last week. This is such a stunning “neutral” palette. The shades blend easily. Plus, they’re long lasting and super pigmented.
Of course, I’m late to the party and Urban Decay announced that they’re discontinuing their original Naked palette. WHY OH WHY. On the bright side, you can still pick one up for only $27! According to their site, the original price was $54 *Don’t mind me, casually running to Ulta and picking up 10 more palettes*
I applied the shade “Virgin” (pale beige) on my whole lid and eyebrow bone. Then, I added “Sin” (pale nude) on just my lid. Later, I blended out “Naked” (nude) “Buck” (fawn brown) and “Smog” (coppery bronze) on my crease. For more texture and definition, I decided to use “Dark Horse” (deep mocha) on the outer corner of my eyes.
To finish off the look and “glam” it up a bit, I applied ColourPop’s “Cheap Date” (gold with silver glitter) on my lid! Finally, I chose L’Oreal’s Voluminous Million Lashes for my mascara!
Step #2: Face
After my eyeshadow look is complete, I’ll typically keep it simple with highlighter and blush. My go-to blush right now is Milani’s Dolce Pink Baked Blush because it has such a pretty, rosy shade. I only add a small amount with a fluffy brush, since the blush is quite pigmented. I love ColourPop’s highlighter, especially their “Lunch Money” variety. It leaves your skin so dewy and glowing! I’ve already hit pan on it, y’all!
Step #3: Lips
A few posts back, I mentioned trying ColourPop’s Lux lipsticks for the first time. The color payoff was incredible. Even though I had issues with smudging, I wanted to try out more lipsticks because of their vibrant colors and affordability. “On Display” (the first shade I tried) was bold and lasted throughout the day.
I’m so glad I went back to Ulta and picked up a couple more of their lipsticks. They’re great quality, and super vibrant and fun!
For this particular look, I chose “Hello Stranger” (burgundy). I thought it’d be the perfect lippie to compliment a glittery eyeshadow!
That’s it for my glittery autumn look! Here’s to a magical November!
I hope that you enjoyed this post, lovelies! Have a wonderful rest of your weekend!
