Hi, lovelies! đ Happy Wednesday! I hope you’re having a beautiful day! Since I haven’t chatted with y’all in a while, I thought it’d be the perfect time to write an “if we were having coffee” style post. I’ve seen a lot of bloggers write posts like this and they’re always super cute and fun to read! Yay for coffee dates!
Wow, it’s been over a week since I’ve written a blog post. Last week, we refinished our bathtub, which resulted in a pretty messy apartment. They told us that it’d take about three days for the tub to dry, so we didn’t really spend much time in our apartment.
My schedule definitely got a little out of whack. The first night, we even slept over at Alejandro’s mom’s place. I’m sorry that I haven’t been able to chat with y’all and am looking forward to posting consistently again! đ
On to our coffee date! ââš
If We Were Having Coffee….
I’d definitely recommend one of my favorite spots, an Italian restaurant near my place called DiMaggio’s.
They have the best chicken vesuvio and everyone is so nice there. The owner even knows a lot of the locals’ names! When it comes to coffee, I’m a caramel macchiato kind of gal. Usually, I’ll order iced, but today I felt like having hot coffee.
I’d ask you how your day has been going and what’s been new with you.
I love having conversations over coffee, whether I’m just getting to know someone or have been friends with them for a while!
I’d share that my anxiety was pretty bad last week because of the apartment situation, but I’ve been feeling a lot better this week.
Alejandro and I spent most of Saturday cleaning up, and now the apartment looks tidy! I was finally able to sit down yesterday and relax.
I’d tell you that I’m super excited because I reached 100+ followers!!Â
When I saw the notification pop up, I couldn’t help but tear up a little bit. I just want to thank all of you so much for reading. đ After college, I lost a lot of motivation to write, but sharing my writing with y’all has been so wonderful and your support truly means the world. đ
I’d share stories from my weekend, and tell you about my little brother’s newest milestones!
Last weekend, we finally got a chance to jump in the pool for the first time this year! It hit 90 degrees in Chicago on Monday, so a pool day was much needed! My two-year-old brother definitely enjoyed the water! He has the best little persoanlity and makes me laugh already!
I’d tell you that I bought an adorable bikini at Target during the weekend!
I’ve always dreaded shopping for bikinis and only had a few swimsuits in my dresser even throughout high school. This year, I panicked at first but then reminded myself that this is my body, it’s beautiful just the way it is, and I need to show it love. đ I can’t wait to pick out more fun swimsuits and enjoy the summer! Swimsuit photo shoots will be a thing!
I’d ramble on about music and my new favorite songs.Â
Shawn Mendes’ new album dropped recently and I’m in love with it! Alejandro and I have been jamming out to it in the car. My favorite songs are “Lost in Japan” and “When You’re Ready.”
I’d tell you that although my anxiety levels have gone up and down throughout the months, I’ve been working on showing more kindness to myself.
This year, I’ve been trying my best to focus on self care, whether it’s taking a much needed bubble bath, drinking more water, or writing in my journal. I haven’t owned a diary in years, but a couple of weeks ago, I bought a little journal from Marshalls and writing entries every other day has been helping my anxiety so much!
I’d mention that I’m rewatching New Girl with Alejandro and ask you for Netflix recommendations!Â
The show is so hilarious and quirky — it always brightens my mood! I’m of course always looking for new series to watch! What are some of your favorite shows on Netflix right now?
I hope that you enjoyed my version of the “if we were having coffee” post, lovelies! đ» đ Have a wonderful rest of your day! Talk soon! x
What would you tell me if we were having coffee Also, how has your week been going and what are you most excited about this summer?
