Hey, lovelies! 💗 Happy Friday! I hope you’re having a great day! Can y’all believe it’s already June 1st? It feels like this year is going by so fast! I’m excited for summer adventures like pools days, going to the movies at midnight, and picnics at the park! Last month practically flew by, so I wanted to write a May favorites post!
Thoughts about May:
Overall, May was a good month. I visited family a lot, laughed a ton, and learned new dinner recipes (thanks Pinterest!) When it comes to writing, I pushed my creative boundaries and it was a blast. For some reason, even though I love writing, I’ve never really felt that creative. I’ve always wished that crafts like DIY projects, scrapbooking, painting, or interior design came naturally to me.
I have put myself down over “not being creative enough” in the past, but I’m now understanding that everyone is creative in their own way! Throughout the month of May, I worked on my blog design, began to get a feel of my writing style, and had a lot of fun coming up with new post ideas!
It’s easy to compare yourself to others, but at the end of the day, as long as you’re enjoying your craft–whether it’s art, writing, baking, etc.–you are absolutely being creative! 💛
On to a few of my favorite things….
Cause I sure did shop this month — um, so….Alejandro needs to change my Target account password or something, y’all! Here are my top May favorites for fashion, beauty and food!
May Favorites 2018
– Fashion –
Pusheen’s Favorite Things Tee: This tee is everything and more! First of all, the quote is incredibly accurate. I mean, food is definitely always my favorite subject. Plus, it features Pusheen, an adorable and pretty relatable cat! I bought this tee at Hot Topic during a mall trip with Alejandro. it’s super comfortable and I’ve already worn it with my overalls and high waisted jeans. The tee comes in a pastel mint color, which I’ve been really into lately.
Striped Sweater Dress from Charlotte Russe: UGH, this dress y’all! I’m in love with its vibrant colors and square neckline! I don’t own anything like the dress in my closet, and it instantaneously caught my eye. Charlotte Russe labels this dress as “daywear” but you can definitely “dress it up”-pun intended-with heels or the right accessories. It has stretchy and soft material, which makes the dress great for casual everyday outings like going to the store, lunch dates, or hanging out with friends.

NYX Love You So Mochi Palette in Electric Pastels: Okay, so Too Faced Life’s a Festival palette is on my beauty wishlist, but its a bit too pricey for my recent college grad budget right now. The Too Faced palette has a lot of bright colors (blues, pinks, golds) that I don’t usually wear, but have been wanting to try out. Maybe one day the makeup gods will bless me with that palette, but in the mean time, we’ll work with what we have. And look cute too!
I went to Ulta last week and found NYX’s Love You So Mochi palette, and it’s stunning! The colors are lovely, bold and pigmented. They remind me a lot of the Life’s a Festival shades, and I’ve already created a couple of dreamy makeup looks.
Wet n Wild MegaGlo Highlighting Powder in Blossom Glow: Speaking of beauty on a budget…Wet n Wild’s MegaGlo highlighter is one of the most pigmented highlighters I’ve ever purchased. Better yet? It’s under $5. My favorite variation of the MegaGlo line is Blossom Glow. The highlighter has a blush undertone, and gives you a beautiful glow that lasts throughout the day. I read so many great reviews about this product, and it’s become one of my makeup staples.
O·P·I Nail Polish: Lately, I’ve been feeling uninspired when it comes to my nails and kept them short with no polish for a while. Since summer is coming up, I wanted to get re-inspired and buy a couple of new beach themed shades. During one of my trips to Target, I found two shades by O·P·I that gave me serious summer vibes, “Bubble Bath” and “That’s Hula-rious“!
– Food –
Aglio Pasta: There’s no better love story than Nunzia and a bowl of pasta, sorry Alejandro! Last week, I tried a new dish at this restaurant near my placed called Family Palace. Our server recommended the Aglio pasta, which was one of their specials that day. The rotini pasta dish features a garlic cream sauce and is topped with roasted red peppers, broccoli, parmesan cheese, and chicken.
Starbucks Floral Tumbler: Not food, but food related! Y’all know I love my coffee!! The other day, I stopped at Starbucks and saw this cute floral tumbler. I like that it’s portable, and I can bring it to Starbucks whenever I order my coffee. I try my best to be as environmentally conscious as possible. The tumbler is great because I practically live in Starbucks!
Well, that’s it for my May favorites! ☀🌸 I hope that you enjoyed, lovelies! Cheers to a beautiful first day of June…and the weekend!
What were some of your May favorites? Any fashion, beauty, food, etc. finds that you’d recommend?
Nice picks especially the nyx palette is bomb👍
So many cute things! I love that dress from Charlotte Russe! I’ve been soooo into color lately (which is odd for me since I’m usually clad in black). I have over 65 bottles of OPI nail polish and Bubble Bath is one of my faves for a great French manicure base. 💕 Beautiful pictures!
