When I first decided to create a blog, I knew that I didn’t necessarily want to have a “theme” associated with my content. I really just wanted to write freely. After so many years of being prompted to write specifically about a topic (i.e. an analytical paper about one of Shakespeare’s works), I both wanted and needed freedom in order to discuss what was/is on my mind. Essentially, this blog mostly focuses on my life and the events going on in it.
A huge part of my life is my boyfriend, Alejandro. We have been together for almost four years but it seems more like forever! He is pretty much the funniest, most brilliant person I have ever met.
Anyway, Alejandro and I have been feeling a little overwhelmed by what comes with being straight out of college. We needed to de-stress and go out for a while.
Luckily for us, we have the city of Chicago to keep us busy. We decided to take a trip to Navy Pier and explored just about everything, minus the Ferris Wheel. The line was insanely long but there’s always next time!
Instead, we walked along the pier, relaxed by the lake, and grabbed a bite to eat. (Who can resist Chicago-style pizza?) It ended up raining a bit (of course, lucky us!) but we had a blast regardless. I even bought a Navy Pier shirt–I’m kind of obsessed with the design and I’ll attach a picture to show you on here.
That’s what I really love about my relationship with Alejandro. We can pretty much just pick up and go anywhere. I’ve always wanted someone to do that with. To quote Forrest Gump, “We goes together like peas and carrots.” (Alejandro ALWAYS says that about us so I suppose I’m also quoting him?)
Hopefully you enjoyed this more conversational, breezier-styled blog and I’m excited to share more of our adventures with you this summer.
Also, make sure to comment down below what you’re looking forward to doing this summer. 🙂 I’d love to hear your plans!
P.S. Enjoy some cheesy photos of us!
