Hey, lovelies! 💛 Happy Friday! I hope that y’all had a wonderful week. In my last post, I mentioned that I’ve been struggling with my anxiety this week. Although dealing with that has been tough, I’ve been trying to appreciate the little things in life as much as possible. On Wednesday night, Alejandro and I went on a middle-of-the-week mini dinner date to Applebee’s and we laughed a ton. I vlogged our night together and couldn’t stop smiling while editing the video.
That night, it started to drizzle as we were driving to the restaurant.
Luckily we left our umbrella in the backseat of our car. ☔ I closed my eyes and enjoyed the peaceful pitter pattering of rain against my window.
When we got to Applebee’s of course we ordered our usual, the 2 for 20 dinner with mozzarella sticks as an appetizer. Sometimes, we get cravings for Applebee’s just because of their mozzarella sticks. I couldn’t even get a picture in before we took our first couple of bites! So yummy!
For my entree, I got the Three Cheese Chicken Penne option. My favorite! I love that the dish is simple, with alfredo sauce and tomatoes. It’s my go-to entree at Applebee’s!
Alejandro wanted to try the Shrimp Wonton Stir-Fry and finished his entire plate! He said that it was tasty and filling! Out of the two of us, he’s definitely the adventurous one when it comes to trying new food whereas I tend to stick to the same order. He usually lets me sneak a couple of bites from his plate though, which I appreciate. ☺
After dinner, I cleaned the apartment and washed the dishes. Cleaning is always relaxing for me and super satisfying!
I played some music in the background while tidying up (right now, I’m really into Jack Johnson and Colbie Calliat). By then, it was around 9 pm or so. Nighttime is my favorite time of the day because everything winds down and becomes calm. Even growing up, my mom called me the night owl of our house.
Alejandro goes to sleep earlier than me and I usually read, clean, or listen to music. It’s become a little routine for me. I like to have my alone time, hanging out and enjoying a quiet moment.
After washing the dishes, the apartment looked so much neater automatically! Isn’t it funny how having a clean counter space can make all the difference?
We also found out that Alejandro got an A in his first master’s class! I’m not sure if I mentioned it yet, but he’s going back to school for a degree in data science. We did a happy dance after he checked his grade. I’m so proud of him!
I hope that you enjoyed this laid back post. 💓 Thank you so much for continuing to check in and read my posts. It honestly means the world to me. I love hearing from y’all. 💛 It truly makes my day! I didn’t write much for a while after college and now I actually feel excited to write again!
How was your week? Also, what do you like to do on weeknights?
