Hi, lovelies! 💖 TGIF! I hope you’re having a wonderful day! So, I’ve mentioned to y’all that Alejandro has picked out a few of my favorite outfits during random mall trips. He isn’t really into fashion, and feels most comfortable in a comfy tee and jeans. Once in a blue moon though, he likes to dress up for special events or outings.
Even though Alejandro doesn’t consider himself “fashion forward,” he truly does surprise me every now and again!
I thought it’d be fun to challenge my beau and asked him to style my outfits throughout the week. He accepted my challenge and it was nice gaining another perspective about the clothing I already own.
I don’t know about y’all, but I often times tend to pair the same pieces of clothing together and am not the best at utilizing my entire closet. With Alejandro’s help, I fell in love with a lot of my clothes all over again!
Boyfriend Chooses My Outfits for a Week
Monday — Hanging out and Shopping at the Mall
On Monday, Alejandro did a great job of combining familiar pieces with clothing that brought me out of my comfort zone. I’m glad he started off with my #1 fashion staple, a pair of high waisted jeans. For my top, he chose a lacy cropped top from Charlotte Russe.
I’ve always adored this top because of its icy blue color, but have only worn it a handful of times. Every time I go to grab the top, I almost always end up choosing something else.
At first, I didn’t think the outfit would be very practical to wear throughout the day, but it ended up working well with the leather jacket. Before the day ended, all we wanted to do was go to the mall and snack on some pretzels. Although this outfit was a little more flirty than I’m used to, I surprisingly felt really comfortable as we hung out at the mall. Overall, I’d wear the outfit again, maybe to a party or dinner date with friends.
Tuesday — Grocery and Errands Day
I needed a comfier outfit for Tuesday because we had to catch up on some errands and go grocery shopping. Whenever we run errands, I’ll usually wear leggings or sweats. I’m happy that Alejandro chose jeans again on Tuesday, because I felt a little more dressed up and put together for some reason. I probably won’t be trading in my sweats anytime soon, but wearing jeans was a nice change.
My black converse matched the zip-up hoodie from PINK perfectly, and I thought they were a stylish addition to the outfit. The only piece that I didn’t care for was my pink racerback tank. It was pretty loose-fitting and kept bunching up underneath the hoodie. Nevertheless, I enjoyed these pieces and would wear them all again, just maybe not together.
Let’s be real, even though the jeans were cute, I missed the comfort of my sweats!
Wednesday — Coffee Date and Writing
My absolute favorite outfit of the week! Ah, I’m in love with this look, y’all! I probably haven’t worn either the tank or pencil skirt since college, and never thought to pair them together! When I first saw the outfit, I didn’t know how to feel about it. I wasn’t sure if the tank was too casual for the look, and wondered if the busy print of the shoes would clash with a striped skirt.
Needless to say, I was totally wrong and wonder if I should appoint Alejandro as my personal stylist! He accessorized the outfit with bold hoop earrings, so I put my hair up in a bun and created a glittery eyeshadow look.
That day, we went out for coffee. I worked on writing while Alejandro studied for his class, a typical Wednesday for us. This outfit is a little extra for an everyday look, but I think it’d be gorgeous for a night out!
Thursday — Dinner at Mom’s Old Recipe
We celebrated completing our outfits challenge on Thursday with a delicious meal at Mom’s Old Recipe! Side note, this was probably one of our most memorable dates ever! The restaurant has a romantic setting, especially because of its beautiful brick walls, string lights, and bright paintings. Alejandro and I chatted for almost two hours!
He chose a sweet blue and white sundress and t-strap sandals for my dinner date look. Both of these picks are definitely pieces that I would wear on a day to day basis. I haven’t been wearing dresses as much as I used to, but sundresses are perfect for weekday wear during the summer! Overall, this outfit was the most “my style” compared to Alejandro’s other picks.
The dress was comfortable to wear throughout the day, but it got a little chilly after dinner. I’ll have to bring a sweater just in case next time, the story of summers in Chicago!
I hope that you enjoyed this post, lovelies! 💛 Have a great rest of your day and a beautiful weekend! x
What did you think of Alejandro’s outfits? Do you have a favorite? Also, when it comes to clothes/outfits in your closet, what are some pieces that you want to incorporate more often?
Okay, Alejandro! Bravo! I loved Wednesday’s look! It’s full of so much spunk and personality. I love the way the colors coordinated and he mixed the patterns. The high bun complimented your look well!

Aww, thanks so much, dear!! 💗Alejandro reads my blog and he’ll definitely appreciate your comment!! hehe! He doesn’t consider himself great with fashion at all, but hey he’s better at it than he thinks I guess 😉 I’ll definitely be wearing Wednesday’s outfit again in the near future!! 💛
What what a fun idea! I’m tempted to see how my husband would do styling me!
Thanks, hon!! xx Alejandro surprised me so I guess you just never know lol!!
I loved this post – this has inspired me to do the same with my boyfriend, because although I have seen YouTubers do similiar style posts I haven’t seen them in the blogging world! He did so well and you slayed all these outfits <3
Aww, thank you so much!! 💗🌸 You should totally try it out, it was so much fun!! I’ve seen those “Boyfriend Buys My Outfit” challenges on YouTube too (and even did one myself hehe)!! They’re always so hilarious!! I was really curious as to what he’d pick out when it comes to clothes already in my closet and he actually inspired me to come up with new outfits!! lol! Thanks for stopping by and your sweet comment, dear!! xx
Not bad at all!

This was a super fun post to read! Way to go boyfriend!!! Sounds like it made for a fun week!
Aww, thanks so much! 💖We did have so much fun with this experiment!! hehe!! I was surprised at how much Alejandro actually enjoyed the challenge!! 😂
Wow he did a really good job at putting together outfits! I really like the tank top with the pink skirt, it’s super cute!
Thanks, Cleia!! 💓💛That ended up being my favorite too!! It’s really different from anything I’ve paired together! 💕I gotta give him an A for creativity lol!
How wonderful! He did a great job. I’ve never let a man pick out an outfit for me… my ex would have me in things that absolutely WOULD NOT SUIT ME and be so blinged up it would be unbelievable.. and my current? I haven’t asked what he likes yet, suppose it would be interesting to see what he would choose. Haha. A fantastic idea.
Lol I sooo relate to you on that one!! Alejandro is the first guy I let go anywhere near my wardrobe lol!! I thought it was interesting to see him reach for things that I’d usually wear and adding in his own ideas/style.
Now I’m just imagining your ex’s pick to be a sequin dress with chandelier earrings and a lot of sparkle hehe!! Oh my gosh, I would totally love to read a post like this from you!! 💕 😂It’s always interesting…and slightly humorous to see style from a boyfriend’s perspective 😂
I think he did a very impressive job! My favourite outfit is the first 🙂
Thank you, Sarah!! 💛💓He managed to surprise me again!! hehe! Happy that he chose that top for the first outfit, made me want to wear it more often! 😊
Superb! Keep sharing, stay motivated…
Thank you so much!! ✨🌸
