After work on Saturday, Alejandro and I hung out at home and watched movies on Netflix. Later that evening, I was scrolling through Pinterest. At first, I was only looking for a yummy recipe for dinner the next day, but then I had an idea. What if I tried out Pinterest recipes for an entire 24 hours–breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks?
I thought it’d be even funner to try out the most saved recipe pins. In other blog posts, I’ve mentioned my fascination (and sometimes confusion) with Pinterest. I love looking up recipes that are familiar to me–like a good crock pot dinner idea or easy 30 minute meals. But I’ve never tried out the “trendier” options!
After about an hour or so of scrolling, I found five trendy recipes that Pinterest users love!
Trying Top Pinterest Recipes for 24 Hours
Breakfast: Avocado Toast

Number of Saves: 48k
This year’s biggest breakfast trend so far has definitely been avocado toast, especially on Pinterest. Now, I’m not the biggest fan of avocado, I’ll admit. Mostly it’s the texture that bugs me, but I really wanted to try out this super aesthetic breakfast recipe! I mean, it looks so pretty, y’all!
One of Pinterest’s top posts for avocado toast offers many ways to make the popular breakfast dish. I decided on the second option, Fried Egg Avocado Toast. The instructions were pretty simple. Spread avocado on your toast and add a fried egg on top.
My breakfast took about five minutes to make. I thought that the egg and avocado’s flavors went well together, and the dish was quite filling. The egg masked any texture issues I have with avocado. Something was missing, though. Maybe I just needed to add a bit more pepper or salt.
I’m not sure if I’ll be eating avocado toast on a frequent basis. However, this recipe made me want to try out other dishes with avocado as a main ingredient.
Lunch: Turkey Wrap

Number of Saves: 141k
When it comes to lunch, Pinterest recommended a lot of salads and wraps. Subway wraps are always tasty, so I wanted to make my own version. Holly Lofthouse’s Turkey Ranch Club Wrap was one of the first recipes that came up when I typed in “lunch ideas.” Plus, her recipe got over 100k saves! I guess a lot of people were craving wraps. Who could blame them?
First of all, anything to do with ranch is an absolute “yes” in my book. I bought flour tortillas from Mariano’s and already had most of the other ingredients in my fridge. Now, the recipe calls for bacon, which I wasn’t too happy with (sorry bacon lovers out there)! At first, I was going to omit the bacon from my wrap, but Alejandro convinced me to try it out with the bacon first. Bae had a point!
I actually ended up enjoying the wrap, bacon and all. I could barely taste it because of the ranch and tomatoes.
I’d 100% make this recipe again, because it’s affordable, hassle free, and delicious!
Snack #1: Pizza Bombs

Number of Saves: 265k
Snack time! With 265k saves, Pepperoni Cheese Bombs came in as the winner! Out of all the recipes that I tried out on Sunday, this one has to be my favorite. The scent of Pillsbury crescent rolls filled up our entire apartment, and it reminded me of cozy winter nights.
This would be such a great snack for a housewarming party or family dinner. I’d like to make it for my little brother or Alejandro’s siblings, eventually. The pizza bombs only required a few ingredients and took a total of 10 minutes to bake. My only issue with the recipe is that it states preparation time is two minutes. That was not the case for me, but maybe I’m just not the quickest at folding dough!
Prep time aside, I thought this was the perfect little snack for any occasion!
Dinner: Chili’s Copycat Cajun Chicken Pasta

Number of Saves: 509k
I’ve seen Chungah Rhee’s recipes all over Pinterest and fell in love with her site, (already subscribed)! Her recipes are great for beginner cooks because she tends to focus on “quick and easy meals,” as highlighted by her site’s tagline.
Pinterest is known for a lot of “copycat” recipes from popular chain restaurants like Olive Garden and Applebee’s. My go-to dish at Chili’s is their Cajun Chicken Pasta and I was excited about Chungah’s recipe, which got over 500k saves!
Chungah’s recreation is a little cheesier than Chili’s original dish. Also, it didn’t call for Cajun seasoning on the pasta itself (unlike at Chili’s). I only added Cajun seasoning to the chicken, which made the dish less spicy in general. I’d say that this entree reminded me a lot more of Applebee’s Three Cheese Chicken Pasta (which is just as yummy).
I was a little bummed out when the sauce dried out overnight in the fridge, though. I’m not sure if that’s just my doing, because I can never successfully reheat dishes with Alfredo sauce! Do y’all have any suggestions? Any cooking advice would be super appreciated! Should I add more sauce to my dishes when it comes to Alfredo sauce? I’d really like to try this recipe again!
Snack #2: Apple Nachos
Pin Title: Apple Nachos with Peanut Butter and Chocolate
Website: trialandeater.com
Number of Saves: 499k
Before the end of the night, I had to satisfy my sweet tooth! What better way to do that than with chocolate, melted peanut butter, and apples? After some searching, I found this Apple Nachos recipe a few times on Pinterest and noticed that it had 499k shares. I couldn’t find the exact number of saves since it showed up as multiple pins.
I’m actually obsessed with this delicious snack!
This was Alejandro’s favorite dish by far! In fact, he won’t stop talking about how he wants us to make it again soon! The apple slices were so crunchy and chocolate chips as toppings added the perfect touch!
I’m very glad I got to try out new recipes, thanks to Pinterest’s recommendations! Overall, my cooking adventure was a success and much easier to carry out than expected. Can’t wait to make a lot of these recipes again, and find more popular dishes on Pinterest!
Have a wonderful rest of your day, lovelies! x
What is your favorite recipe on Pinterest? Have you found any delicious recipes recently?
Ooh what a fun post, Nunzia!!! Everything looks soo good especially those pizza bites. 😍 Did you try heating up the pasta? Sometimes it looks dried out but once you heat it up the sauce turns back into melty?
Thank you so much, Hunida!! 💗The pizza bombs were my favorite out of everything, they were so yummy! I reheated the pasta the next day and it was dry still. :/ That always happens to me whenever I make Alfredo sauce it seems, so I don’t think it was the recipe. Wonder what went wrong! It was so good the first day though lol! x
That’s so interesting about the pasta!! I wish I had a solution for you, lol. 😛
Omg the pizza bombs look so so amazing, I defo need to try them!!xx
Oh my gosh, Chloe, they were so good and easy to make!! I definitely recommend them!! x
Absolutely love this blog idea, so much fun to try out a load of different recipes. Shame about the alfredo sauce going dry, I’ve had similar problems when reheating it :/ xx
Thank you, hon!! 💗Yeah, I’m not sure why, I just can’t ever figure out the Alfredo sauce! That’s exactly what I experienced, just totally dry the next day. It was kind of a bummer. :/ It was a lot of fun trying out all the new recipes though! x
Wow it all looks super good!!
I never trust myself with pasta but you made yours look amazing! I hope next time you make alfredo sauce it comes out perfect! 🤗
Aww, thanks, love!! 💛I grew up watching my grandma make pasta, so that was one of the first things I learned how to make. I hope one day I learn how to make a perfect Alfredo sauce too hehe! Until then, Olive Garden is the perfect solution lol!! x
That’s such a wonderful idea. I usually make chicken wraps for myself and they never disappoint! x
Thank you, Siyana!! 💖I’ve never made a chicken wrap for myself but that sounds so yummy!! I need to look up chicken wrap recipes on Pinterest now! hehe!! x
Nunzia the pizza bombs looked so good and so did the apple dessert. You need to make those for your mama. Lol
LOL Sounds good, Ma! Maybe I can make the pizza bombs for you this weekend when I come over! 😊
What a neat idea for a post! The turkey wrap and cheese bites sound delicious! Were the dishes difficult to make?
Thanks, Chanelle!! 💛They were actually all pretty easy to make, which surprised me! The only thing is the cheese bites took kinda longer to prepare, but they were so good, I didn’t even mind! 😂They were my favorite. I made another turkey wrap for work today too and it was delicious hehe! I definitely recommend it! x
You could make a bunch of the cheese bites and freeze them too 🙂
