Hi, lovelies! 💗 I hope you’re having an amazing Thursday! Wow, it’s been a minute since my last post! Last week, I went on vacation to Cabo San Lucas. It was an absolute dream and I couldn’t wait to sit down and chat about the trip!
A few months back, Alejandro gave me a call and told me that he won a trip to Cabo at work. I hadn’t been out of the country since I was five years old. We were both excited and anxious all at the same time. February couldn’t come quickly enough!
Our Vacation to Cabo San Lucas
In January, we went to apply for my passport. Everything started to get surreal at that point. I was so ecstatic! Just a month later, we landed in Mexico and checked into Secrets Puerto Los Cabos Golf & Spa Resort.
Near the end of our trip, Alejandro proposed to me on the beach. It was the sweetest moment. Whenever I think back to that day, I can’t help but smile.
Our vacation to Cabo left me with a feeling of wanderlust. Sometimes, I can be a bit of a homebody, but I want to travel to as many places as possible. Cabo, I miss you already!

Secrets Puerto Los Cabos Golf & Spa Resort
After a four hour flight, we took a bus ride to our destination. Cabo was absolutely stunning. I fell in love with its architecture, dreamy mountains, and clear blue waters. When we got to the resort, my jaw dropped. I’ve never been anywhere quite as beautiful in my whole life. Plus, it was so fancy!

Alejandro and I checked in and headed to our suite.
“Woah,” I remember him saying as soon as we opened the door, “This is so cool!”

Since our suite was on the fifth floor, we got a clear view of the pacific ocean and mountains. I remember being so in awe of the scenery and wanted to be outside as much as possible!

Secrets Puerto Los Cabos even had a little cactus garden! How cute! It inspired me to start an indoor garden since we’re moving to a bigger apartment soon!

Yummy Food and Gorgeous Scenery!
On day two of our vacation to Cabo, we spent the afternoon in the pool. I don’t remember how many piña coladas I drank lol! They were so tasty! We also got spoiled since the resort was all inclusive. Alejandro and I ate at the Barefoot Grill, Market Café, Oceana, El Patio, Seaside Grill, and Portofino! Can’t forget about the coffee at Coco Café–LOVE!

My favorite menu items were the fish tacos at Seaside Grill and the linguini at Portofino, but Oceana had the most stunning view.

We got to enjoy our dinner beachside at night. I’m getting emotional just thinking about that special moment. If I close my eyes, I can see Alejandro and I talking over dinner, taking pictures, and looking out into the pacific ocean. I’ll remember that night my whole life. 💛

Sailing Excursion

Day three was just so magical. As part of the trip, we were able to pick an excursion, ranging from a spa day, sailing, and even a dirt bike tour. We decided to go sailing via Cabo Sails!

Everyone left the resort at 9am and it took about 40 minutes to get to our excursion. It was definitely worth the long ride, though!
Alejandro got to go paddle boarding and he had so much fun! I wasn’t confident enough in my swimming abilities, so I decided to chill out on the boat with a fruity drink and lunch lol! I did, however, get some awesome shots of Alejandro on the paddle board!
Also. I snapped a few selfies of my own!

We saw so many amazing sights that morning, like Playa del Amor (Lover’s Beach) and The Arch of Cabo San Lucas. Everyone got super excited because a couple of whales swam past us (I could only spot their fins, though!)

I learned a lot that day about Cabo’s history. Shout out to Pepe, who was such a knowledgable and awesome first mate!
Getting Engaged to Alejandro!

On February 17th, 2019, I got engaged to my best friend and the love of my life. I’ll try not to tear up too much as I write my engagement story. (Truth be told, I’m already failing at this lol!)
After our sailing trip, I was on cloud nine and felt so grateful for those wonderful memories. When we got back to the resort, Alejandro and I took a nap and chilled for a while. We were both a little tired…and sunburned. We later decided to buy a few souvenirs and walk around the resort for a bit.
Alejandro brought a book bag with him “just in case we wanted to take pictures.” I was already getting a little suspicious because he kept asking if I wanted to check out the sunset at the beach.

We walked around the resort, hand in hand. There was one of those giant Jenga games on our way to the beach. We played a few rounds (because we’re dorks) and got to the beach just in time for the sunset.
We sat down, and at this point, my stomach was in knots. I was super nervous! I stared at the giant ocean and it felt like I was in a dream. After watching the sunset for a few minutes, Alejandro looked me in the eyes and cleared his throat. I could hear the nervousness in his voice!

“I just wanted to say thank you so much for everything, Nunzia. It’s been such an honor being with you all of these years…” Alejandro started.
At this point, my head felt like it was floating over my body. Alejandro’s proposal was short, but sweet–perfectly imperfect. He was shaking as he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. My eyes were puffy, I was a nervous wreck, and my heart was filled with love for him.

He says that the moon and sun were both present in the sky at that very moment, but I honestly can’t remember. Our relationship was flashing before my eyes.
Those belly laugh moments, the day he asked me to be his girlfriend, our hard times, all of those nights we spent together spilling our inner thoughts, everything. The memories were so present and intense that I started to ball my eyes out!

On our way back to our suite, a thought washed over me, suddenly (kind of like waves crashing peacefully against the shore). I get to spend the rest of my life with the kindest, gentlest man I’ve ever met.

I hope that you liked this more personal style post! It’s been quite a busy month and I’m so happy to be sharing this exciting news with you! 💞🏖️💍
Thank you so much for reading about our vacation to Cabo! Have a beautiful day, lovelies! x
What is your favorite vacation memory? Best vacation you’ve ever been on? Also, do you have any travel/vacation plans for 2019 that you’re super excited about at the moment?

Hi, Diandra!! It’s so nice to hear from you!!! Missed you!! 💗
Awww, thanks so much, girl! You’re always so sweet and supportive!
Oh my gosh, we’ve been planning here and there! It seems like my head is spinning with the amount of stuff we still have to do, but we’ll get through it lol!! Slowly but surely!!
Hope you’re doing well! I saw you recently posted! I’ve been all over the place with work and stuff too, lately, and have barely had a moment to sit down. But I’m looking forward to catching up on your posts, dear! x
It’s so crazily amazing!
Have you started doing your mood boards or collages of wedding magazines yet? Do you know what style of dress you want? Are you going traditional or alternative? And you know, what food??
I’ve got SO many questions! I get so excited about weddings and the preparation of them – I’ll probably stress you out just by asking about all of this, haha.
Again, congratulations on such beautiful news ❤️❤️
Omg girl huge congrats on the engagement, I am so so happy for you!! This sounds like the best holiday ever and you are so beautiful as always! xx

Awww, Hollie!!! Thank you so much, girl!! 💓I definitely remember reading your blog post about your engagement and just thinking it was so sweet!! I feel like such an adult telling people I’m engaged and calling Alejandro my fiancé now! 😂I’m so excited at the thought of marrying the love of my life! Also, being engaged gives me an excuse to binge watch Say Yes to the Dress LOL! 💛
It took me ages to get used to calling Jaz my fiancé haha it still feels too grown up to say it now. 😂 As soon as I was back home I bought alllllll the wedding magazines available just because I could haha and watching Say Yes to the Dress is even better when you’re engaged! 😁
Oh my gosh, congratulations on your engagement, Nunzia!!! How seriously romantic!! & that beachside dinner… awww. ♡ Your ring is just gorgeous & so are all these photos. Thank you for sharing such a special moment with us!! ♡
Thank you so much, Hunida!! 💓The proposal and that day on the beach with Alejandro is something I’ll cherish forever! Cabo is just a dream and Alejandro really did a great job with the ring hehehe! 💍
Thank you for your support and sweet message, girl! It seriously means the world to me! x
You two are just adorable!! I wish you all the best in the future together. <3
CONGRATULATIONS NUNZIA!!!! This is amazing news and what a perfect proposal! I teared up a little bit reading your story.
I totally got suspicious when Mike proposed to me too! He was like “let’s go out for dinner on this day at this time” and he NEVER plans things so I was onto him from the start lol
I wish you the very best in your married life together!
Also that resort is stunning!
AWW, Cleia!! 💗Thank you so much!!!! I was so excited to share the proposal news!! I’m a big cry baby in general, and I teared up way too many times writing this 😂😂That’s so funny that you mention you were suspicious too!!! I had heard that before from a couple of people in long term relationships, but wasn’t sure if it would happen to me! For a week or two before the proposal, I kept asking Alejandro why he was “acting so weird.” Turns out he was trying to hide the ring from me LOL!!
Thank you so much again for your kind message!! I hope you’re doing well and having a great week! x
It’s such a sweet proposal story! Very Memorable 🙂
hahaha yes hiding the ring could be difficult! He wouldn’t want you to accidentally find it!
Thanks Nunzia, you too! x
Aww, this is just so cute! Lovely pics girl and congrats, so happy for you ❤️❤️
Thank you sooo much, dear!!! 💛💗You’re the sweetest! I’m truly over the moon! x
OH my gosh, I’ve been so excited to read this ever since I saw it on IG, I think this morning…?
But wow, some of my family members live really close to los cabos so I know how gorgeous your stay was!
I definitely feel like a homebody too, but ever since I went to Mexico in 2017, I got the urge to travel whenever possible, at least travel the states more and get out of Chicago LOL.
and WOW that proposal sounds so amazing! Wish he got a camera person to record the whole thing cause I love moments like that even though they’re personal lol when i see those moments from couples, it makes me want to love my husband more lol
Your day 2 in Cabo looks so freaking dreamy, and the proposal, wow i can’t believe it!
I would be a nervous wreck too if my husband was gonna ask me to marry him on the beach, but actually we said we would marry each other over the phone and when he came to visit me, we just got married in a little room!
It was so funny because we did what kids would do lol
Anyways, I’m excited to see whats to come for you too! Thank you for sharing <3
Oh my gosh, thank you so much, Kiki!!! Your comment made me smile!! 💓Los Cabos was absolutely stunning. I was so sad when we had to leave lol! Hopefully I’ll get to go back one day! I’m so with you about traveling!! This vacation seriously inspired me to travel whenever I get the opportunity. Alejandro and I were actually thinking we might plan a road trip this spring or summer! One day, I’d also like to visit Guanajuato (Alejandro’s family is from there!)
It was so funny–a photographer was on the beach and he took those photos right after Alejandro proposed lol! I really liked that the actual engagement wasn’t filmed, though. It’s so fun to share the story with others and recall the experience. It’s super surreal! Proposal videos are always cute though!
Awww from reading your blog posts, I can just tell that you and your husband are best friends! I think that’s so important in a relationship! They always say marry your best friend! 💛
Thanks for reading, girl and taking the time to write such a sweet comment! I hope you’re having an amazing day! x
What a sweet and meaningful vacation. Congratulations Nunzia! I wish y’all the very best in your life together.
And that ring!?! GORGEOUS 🙂 <3
Aww, Andrea!! Thank you so much, girl!!! 😊That means so much to me 💓💖Also, ahhhh I practically fainted when I saw the ring for the first time hehehe! x
Congrats! Such a beautiful trip, your pictures are amazing and the whole story is heartwarming! 😊
Aww, thank you so much for your sweet comment, Nikki! 💛 The vacation was truly magical and something my fiancé and I will treasure forever! Thanks for stopping by and reading, dear! x
