Lake Geneva Weekend Getaway | Summer Vacation

Hi, lovelies! 💛 TGIF! I hope you’re having a wonderful Friday! I’m so sorry that I’ve been a little absent this week, but I have an update! I went on my first vacation in years, y’all! Woohoo! 🌻 Last month, my mom was looking up affordable spots near us for a little weekend getaway, and she found out about the Timber Ridge Lodge and Water Park in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin!

This was actually Jonathan’s first vacation, and he had so much fun! I wanted to capture as many photos as possible so we’d be able to look back at them in the future. Alejandro, my mom, Jonathan, and I all enjoyed our stay at the Timber Ridge and Lake Geneva was absolutely gorgeous! I totally recommend staying at the Timber Ridge if you’re ever in the Wisconsin area and looking for a good weekend getaway spot!

Weekend Getaway to Lake Geneva

Timber Ridge Lodge and Water Park:

We decided to head out at about 1 pm and actually made it there in about 2 hours. The ride was nice. We listened to music, chatted, and looked at the scenery as we drove through Illinois. Jonathan was a great sport and barely fussed throughout the car ride. When we got to the hotel and they finished checking us in, I explored the lobby and gift shop. The hotel had this homey, cabin themed vibe that was super cute and fun. 

Once we got to our room, we relaxed for a bit and watched TV. After about 20 minutes or so, we all wanted to check out the water park. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I actually went on the second tallest water slide in the park. It was absolutely terrifying but I loved it! I even went on it twice! Alejandro also tried out all of the tall slides and was excited about the jacuzzi (always so relaxing!) My mom really liked the lazy river and swimming pool.

Out of all of us, Jonathan loved the water park the most! They had a kiddie slide and he went on it so many times! It seemed like every time I looked at him, he had a smile on his face or was laughing. It made me so happy to see him smile that much! So adorable!

Overall, the Timber Ridge Lodge was the perfect spot for our weekend getaway to Lake Geneva!

Next Door Pub and Pizzeria:

After spending a few hours at the water park, we headed back to the hotel and got ready for dinner. My mom wasn’t sure about where to eat so I looked up a few Google reviews for restaurants in Lake Geneva. One of the first restaurants to pop up was Next Door Pub and Pizzeria. It had wonderful reviews and was kid friendly. Plus, I mean….pizza. That’s always a win for me.

I can’t say enough good things about this place! The service was amazing, and they brought the food out quickly! Our mozzarella sticks were tasty and the pizza was steaming hot and yummy. We ordered pepperoni, sausage, and green peppers as our toppings. When we got back to our hotel, I just had to grab a few leftover pieces of pizza and watch some Netflix. Living my best life.

Before leaving the restaurant, of course we had to snap a few cute photos. I really liked my OOTD that day: a floral yellow blouse, jeans, and red heels. Am I the only one who has been really obsessing over yellow on tops and dresses lately? It’s such a pretty color, especially for summer!

Breakfast at Egg Harbor Cafe:

The next morning, we ate breakfast at the Egg Harbor Cafe. They had such an amazing menu and I finally decided on blueberry pancakes, hash browns, and scrambled eggs. Their pancakes were delicious! I couldn’t believe how soft and fluffy they were! Plus, the blueberries added such a great flavor. I can’t forget about my iced coffee! We had a long ride back home later, so coffee was definitely needed!

I have to say one of the best parts of our vacation is seeing my little brother bonding with Alejandro. During breakfast, he didn’t want to sit on his high chair and sat on Alejandro’s lap. They colored together before the food came out and my heart melted. Jonathan truly looks up to Alejandro so much!

Also, I got an adorable photo of my mom saying hi to y’all! Yay!

Chilling out at Riviera Beach:

Ahhh, a day at the beach! What more can I ask for? My dream is to live near a lake or ocean, and this was my favorite part of the vacation by far. Riviera Beach is stunning. We spent about 45 minutes just walking along the beach. After that, we looked out at the boats and visited a couple of gift shops.

If we visit Lake Geneva again in the near future, I’d love to go on a boat tour. *casually planning my next trip to Wisconsin*

That day, I wore a blue floral romper from Mandee’s and it was perfect for a hot summer day at the beach!

Gift Shops and the Driehaus Family Plaza:

Jonathan had a blast running around the Driehaus Family Plaza at The Riviera!

I remember stepping out of The Riviera’s grand front doors after visiting a few gift shops and time just froze. I snapped a photo of the scenery around me and couldn’t help but smile at that moment. It felt pretty great to be able to visit this beautiful place with people I love the most.

Exploring Downtown Lake Geneva:

Can we talk about this very Instagram-able spot? Oh my gosh, the downtown area was so charming and bright! There were a bunch of restaurants, souvenir shops, and boutiques. I ended up buying a cute mermaid ring from one of the shops. We walked around the downtown area for a while. At one point, Jonathan started laughing as he was holding my hand. When he gets really excited and happy, he shakes a little and squeezes your hand.

He kept squeezing my hand and giggling, so I knew he enjoyed Day 2 of our little weekend getaway. We miss you already, Lake Geneva. Until next time!
